rivers and bridges
Victoria is on the southern tip of Vancouver Island, the city bridges all cross ocean inlets
so here is my favorite neighbourhood walking route - around Bowker Creek
it wanders through the three municipalities of Saanich, Victoria and Oak Bay
50% of it in underground culverts
with this small bridge in the park
there is a pretty stone bridge, over the lake, in Beacon Hill Park
and in Vancouver, the Granville Street Bridge crosses False Creek and connects downtown Vancouver with Granville Island
in contrast this is the river of my childhood
the mighty Skeena River at Terrace B.C.
I took this picture from a professional photograph my Mother had enlarged, framed and possibly colour tinted
much of the forest is now developed but the snow covered mountains still stand guard
on the back, dated 1941
a railway bridge was built alongside it in 1953
I have joined Cathy and Sue in the monthly photo challenge
