I wrote recently about an apartment for sale near us. It is 11 square metres/118 square feet, and the starting price was $180 756.
The final price ended up at $229 498, making it the third most expensive apartment in Sweden. The price per square foot would be $20 864.
I bought my first house in a small town South Africa many years ago (1984) and it cost me $2000 for 2052 square feet/200 square metres. I loved that house. It was built in 1840 and everything in it was original (the kitchen tiles, copper claw-footed bathtub, an old style lavatory with high-mounted tank and pull-chain, a brass bell system for staff, candle sconces). The real estate agent could not understand why I would want to live in such an old house because at that time having all the mod cons was en vogue. I always thought it was my dream home, until I moved to my present apartment.
