For some students at Iowa State, one month ago marked their first day of college. Each building, class, and face was new, as were the resources around them. Everything was new to them, so they may not have noticed that Special Collections and University Archives had a new website, but maybe some of you did.
That's right, SCUA launched a newly updated website at the start of the school year with new menus to navigate, updated content, and a stylistic facelift. We are excited about the new feature on our homepage that allows you to easily search various collections. If you are looking to dig deeper into anything, the menu at the top of the page should be a helpful guide.

Our Research and Teach menu provides you with everything you may need to know to locate materials in our collection, use them in your research and projects, plan a visit to SCUA, or teach with SCUA staff or collections.
Our Collections menu breaks down the materials in our collections by topic and format so that you can gain a better understanding of what we collect and care for so that you know what to look out for in your own research or in your interest of possibly donating materials to expand SCUA's collections.

The Collaborate and Exhibit menu is a great place to learn about the ways you can collaborate with us, whether you're interested in hosting an event, exhibiting a story you're invested in, or exploring new ways to work with us and our materials. It is also the location of our current and previous digital exhibitions, which are always fun to visit.
Our Donate menu explains the importance of donations to our work and the various ways you can contribute to SCUA, including financially or through the donation of your physical and digital collections and records.

In the About Us menu, you can learn more about us and really dig into SCUA by viewing our history, policies, and forms. You can also learn about who we are by exploring our staff directory, learn about opportunities to join us via job openings, and, of course, contact us with any questions you may have.
Finally, if you can't find what you're looking for, please don't hesitate to reach out to us at archives@iastate.edu. We will be happy to answer your questions and help you navigate the new website.
