She isn't best pleased with us coming and going to get wood for the fire! Sometimes it's nice to add a bit of text in my sketchbooks so that I can remember a bit more about why I did a particular sketch. This time it was inspired by seeing the sparrow has become a bit more axcclimatised to our comings and goings BUT when I went up the path a bit to get a better view of her I could see she actually looked grumpy! ...and who can blame her. She's trying to hatch her eggs so needs to stay on the nest but those humans keep banging around, chopping wood, talking to each other and opening and closing the door a gazillion times a day. I stood on tiptoe and took a photo with my zoom lens and as soon as I saw that grumpy expression I knew I wanted to get it down on paper. Daniel Smith watercolours on a cheap sketchbook paper. I really need to invest in a large watercolour sketchbook.
