I haven't taken food photos using a proper camera for a hot minute so I was kinda fumbling my way through the lighting and the settings. It took a few shots before I was able to start really enjoying it again. I decided to use my vintage Mir 24-M 35mm/F2.0 with a polarizer and I'm really happy I opted for that instead of my usual go-to lens (Takumar). The Takumar is faster, lighter, and takes really great shots in low-light and indoor scenes, but the Mir produces these sharp photos with really soft bokeh. The resulting photos are a bit dreamy, like an idealized, comforting, inviting scene. Paired with the polarizer, there's nothing harsh about the photos. They appear soft and very pleasant to look at. Here are some examples. I'm looking forward to completing the product shoots but it's been an enjoyable experience so far and I've got several great shots for our social media campaigns as well as for the design needs inside the cafe. | | | | You can also reply to this email to leave a comment. | | | | |
