THESE SIX NORWOOD MEN enlisted In the United States Air Force during the month of November representing but a few of the large group to enter the service from this area.
They were recruited by M/Sgt. George Buckman, Air Force recruiting commander of this area stationed at the Norwood Post Office.
The enlistees, who will receive training at Sampson Air Force Base, Geneva, N. Y. are:
left to right, Donald J. Cormer, son of Mr. and Mrs. Lawrence J. Cornier, Turnpike Street, Canton; Phillip Costello, son of Mr. William Costello, 33 Hill Street, Norwood; Albert C. Jordan, son of Mrs. Helen Badger, 36 Clapboard Street, Norwood; Robert K. MacKay, son of Mr. and Mrs. Francis MacKay, 7 Edgehill road, Norwood; George D. Thompson, son of Mr. and Mrs. George W. Thompson, 70 Prospect street, Norwood and Paul S. Kelley, son of Mr. and Mrs. John T. Kelley, 132 Richland road, Norwood who went directly to Lackland Air Force Base, Texas, as he was a former Air National Guard member.
