Souther Jr. of 71 Berwick Place, Norwood, was meritoriously promoted to his present rank upon graduation from recruit training at the Marine Corps Recruit Depot, Parris Island, S.C. His promotion recognized his "outstanding performance of duties" during recruit training. He has now been assigned to Camp Lejeune, N.C., for four weeks of advanced infantry combat training, and four weeks of basic specialist training in his military occupational specialty.
