Christmas songs - those delightful little tunes we listen to to get us into the holiday spirit. There are some very strong opinions out there about when it is appropriate to listen to holiday music. Personally, I can listen to holiday music at any time of the year but I mainly start listening sometime in November. It's during these times that I really miss having a car because I used to do the bulk of my carol listening when I was driving. Now I just say, "Alexa, play holiday music."
Along with strong opinions on when to listen to holiday music, there are some strong opinions out there regarding what is the best holiday music. Everyone has their favorites, right? Maybe you like the classics and prefer Nat King Cole or Johnny Mathis singing about chestnuts roasting over an open fire. Maybe you like songs from more modern artists like Taylor Swift or Ariana Grande. Maybe you are like me and just love all the holiday music no matter who the artist is.
I tried to write down my favorite holiday songs but there are so many great tunes that it's difficult to pick just a few.
Here are some of my favorite holiday songs:
- Wintersong by Sarah McLachlan
- O Holy Night by Celine Dion
- Little Saint Nick by The Beach Boys
- The Chipmunk Song (Christmas Don't Be Late) by Alvin & The Chipmunks
- I Want a Hippopotamus for Christmas by Gayla Peevey
- Rockin' Around The Christmas Tree by Brenda Lee
- All I Want For Christmas is You by Mariah Carey
- Christmas (Baby Please Come Home) by Michael Bublé
- White Christmas by Bing Crosby
- Mary, Did You Know by Pentatonix
- Underneath the Tree by Kelly Clarkson
- Where Are You Christmas by Faith Hill
