Throwback Thursday #5

By Claire Louisa on Sep 26, 2024

I was asking Davida from The Chocolate Lady's Book Review Blog for some ideas of memes I could join in with and she suggested I could join her twist on #ThrowbackThursday.

The gist of her Throwback Thursday is to highlight one of your previously published book reviews. I love this idea as it brings wonderful books to people's minds that they might have forgotten or not even heard of.

For the Twists/Instructions and to link to Throwback Thursday visit her here. The Chocolate Lady posts on the Thursday before the first Saturday of every month, but you can link to her blog all month. I might make this a fortnightly post (possibly, don't hold me to it).

I'd love to know if you join in.

Because I just bought book #3 in this series Lest Tides Turn (Detective Liz Moorland) by Phillipa Nefri Clark which came out last month, I thought I'd feature book #2

Lest Bridges Burn

From my review

When a child goes missing in the park near her building, the same way another 5-year-old disappeared 18 years before Liz is determined things will be done properly this time, unlike the last time no stone will be left unturned.

The author has woven a carefully connected plot where every suspect and clue will have you guessing as to who took her and why. Liz, aided by her coworker Pete and her friend and ex-coworker Vince (from book 1), Liz must delve into the past and a botched investigation as well as look at the clues now. While she is determined to get this child back alive, she doesn't lose hope that she will at least find out who took the other young child.

If you like this idea and want to do your own Throwback Thursday post, please let me know and don't forget to link up to The Chocolate Lady's post.

Until next time, happy reading.
