There's a bright and cheery red and yellow boat moored at the marina which we often speculate about. Is it an old ferry? It does look like one. Who owns it and what do they use it for? The other day when we parked I noticed the "ferry" was gone. Finally, we surmised, the owners had taken it for a spin on the river. Then I noticed a flash of colour round the corner in the drydock and there it was. So we don't know the answers to any of our questions and now we have some new ones. What is she having done? Will she be heading out on the river after it's finished? Or will she just head back to her moorings? She's a cheery sight in and out of the water. I started with straight acrylics but they did not like this paper so I switched back to acrylic gouache and things immediately improved. We're currently housebound while my husband recovers from surgery so this was done from a photo I took from the carpark recently. I've been lucky to find 10 minutes in the day for sketching so I missed yesterdays post. When things are hectic in my life and I need some down time, picking up a pen, pencil, brush or pastel and making a few marks is really therapeutic. At these times it's never about the end result and all about the escape into creativity which erases any worries for those moments. We all need that temporary relief from stress and art is my escape route....yours may be the same or something completely different. | | | | You can also reply to this email to leave a comment. | | | | |
