This little area of the garden is a favourite. I call it the Pond Garden because it has 3 little ceramic pools.
The birds love to have a bath here and Mink, our cat, likes to play at being a tiger down by the waterhole. Funny how she avoids the fresh water in her bowl but will happily lap up the stagnant water in these pools.
I've started planting some Hellebores as ground cover amongst the dormant Monbretias. These are both plants I love for their abundant flowers and hardy nature.
The maple is a delight in summer with it's fresh green leaves and again in autumn when it explodes with colour. Once the leaves fall I collect them to use in botanical printing.
I won't be changing much in this part of the garden other than planting more Hellebores and getting rid of that lovely but invasive blue creeper.
This is another gouache postcard and I like how the paper colour has worked as the soil.
