Last month I decided to start up my #Selfpoetry posts again, I'm going to make this a monthly pursuit. I'm going to post on the third Saturday of each month and I'll add a link to the bottom if you'd like to join in, the link will be open for 4 weeks so you can post when works for you.
The first time I wandered around my bookshelves finding books that spoke to me, last time I chose to use only the books by my bed and next to where I sit in the lounge, this time I gave myself free reign over my bookshelves to look for books.
Usually, my poetry is very personal and reflective and with the titles I had on hand it seems to be the same for this post. Future posts may or may not be personal and might just be creative. I am thinking I might pick themes for each month since this is new bear with me.
For today's post, I didn't set myself a limit on the number of books I used except they needed to be Books with Blue Covers (or Spines)
If you don't read physical books, feel free to use the ebooks or audiobooks you have in your library.
I went on a road trip with THE GIRLS FROM FITZROY
Out to visit THE SNOWY MOUNTAINS DAUGHTER.
We visited THE FARMER'S FRIEND and THE OPAL MINER'S DAUGHTER
And stood out on RIDGEVIEW STATION gazing BEYOND THE ROCK at ALL THAT IMPOSSIBLE SPACE out there on THIS RED EARTH, where you can see to infinity far beyond THE LOST VALLEY.
We went to WHERE THE MURRAY RIVER RUNS and saw the WINDFLOWERS at WILDFLOWER RIDGE and had lunch at THE CAFE BY THE BRIDGE
Where we celebrated THE ART OF FRIENDSHIP while eating cake made by THE JAM QUEENS and talking about THE STRENGTH OF OUR DREAMS.
I had fun writing this one, some of the covers weren't as blue as I'd thought because I was picking from reading the spines, but it works. Also, unintentionally, they are all Australian authors and Australian stories. I guess it's not that surprising since the majority of my physical books are by Australian authors.
For October seeing as it's Halloween in some parts of the world I'm going to go with books with Halloween themes, whatever that means to you, monsters, horror, supernatural, vampires, pumpkins, whatever you think of when you think of Halloween.
If you decided to join in, leave a link in the comments, I'd love to read your #shelfpoetry
Until next time, happy reading
