First seen over on Book'd Out I'm going to try to do this post regularly linking to It's Monday! What are you reading? at BookDate.
I had a pretty good reading week last week all things considered. I had my final week of classes for my Cert IV Mental Health and my practical assessment on Saturday. I need to get my written assessment handed in in the next 2 weeks then the diploma classes start on the 5th October. I celebrated my birthday a few days late on Sunday by going to see Beetlejuice at the cinema and then having lunch with family and friends.
I finished 4 books, 2 of which were ARCs and 2 audiobooks both of which were ARCs
The Cursed Sebastian Storm (Moonlight Falls #2) by Colette Rivera which follows on immediately from book #1 (ARC) ⭐⭐⭐⭐ My review. I'm looking forward to reading the final book in the trilogy.
Beautiful Savage Butterfly (Mafia Bound #2) by K.M. Neuhold - my review will be up soon, another good slightly dark mafia romance by this author ⭐⭐⭐⭐
Hell and Highwater (THIRDS #1) by Charlie Cochet - Action. Comedy. Romance. I really enjoyed this and can't wait to read the rest of the series, I think there's 10 books. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⚡
The Fating by Dianna Roman – A satirical, sci-fi, MM erotica romance – this is my first read by this author and it's not what I was expecting but I enjoyed it. ⭐⭐⭐⭐
Audiobooks
The Sky Beneath Us by Fiona Valpy – An inspiring, uplifting story of love and loss, courage and adventure – set in Nepal one of my favourite countries. I had some big struggles with this audiobook and if I were to recommend it I would have to say read it, don't listen to it. I'll have my review up soon for this ⭐⭐⭐⚡
Year of the Rabbit (Shifters of the Chinese Zodiac #1) by Anni Lee – I really enjoyed this ⭐⭐⭐⭐ My Review
This week I am reading/listening to
Secondhand Skin (Soulbound Universe) by Hailey Turner - I've nearly finished this audiobook ARC and I've very much enjoyed it.
Remarkably Bright Creatures by Shelby Van Pelt - I saw this on another book blogger's site - Portobello Book Blog and was inspired to get it out from the library.
Colours in Her Hands by Alice Zorn – A witty, layered and compelling novel about a woman with Down Syndrome, exploring textile art, sibling relationships, friendships, and good intentions gone awry. ARC
Fractured Frets (The Flintlocks #4) by Tania Joyce - ARC - I'm not far into this but judging from the previous books in the series it's going to be an emotional journey for this couple.
Next up
Romeo Vs Romeo (The Boys of Hudson Burrow #2) by Hayden Hall -ARC
Oliver by Felicity Snow - ARC
Forbidden Puckboy (Puckboys #7) by Eden Finley & Saxon James - ARC
Until next time, happy reading.
