I did sketch each day though so they will eventually make their way onto the blog. We have a cat so she doesn't come for walks with us but most days when we're out we see someone walking their dog. We often walk where there are lots of birds and it's always interesting to see how well behaved or otherwise the dog is...and sometimes the owner! I find it challenging to portray natural movement in a figure but this was a fun sketch. Keeping one foot above the other and the knee higher on the raised leg with a strong shadow under the grounded foot helps to suggest that forward motion. Blue jeans are great to sketch because they always have such visible folds in the stiff fabric which helps to give them form. A few strokes of blue for shadowy folds in a white shirt and it's done! The dog was very well behaved and had lovely colouring. His owner stopped to chat for a few moments when we met him on both directions of the walk. Whilst I don't wish to own a dog I'm happy to meet a well behaved one when out walking. They add a nice social element as most owners are happy to greet and chat if you comment favourably about their dog. | | | | You can also reply to this email to leave a comment. | | | | |
