Now that the Fangs & Felons series by Becca Seymour has come to an end I wanted to highlight the whole series and not just the final book.
I loved Thicker Than Water (#1) and was excited for Weaker Than Instinct (#2) and I wasn't left disappointed.
With plenty of chemistry between Michaels and Shaw, loads of action and intrigue, this was another book I just had to keep turning the pages to see what would happen next.
Michaels and Shaw made a great couple and despite Michaels initially being wary of getting involved, sometimes the heart wants what the heart wants and what starts with them pretending to have a relationship to cover up their investigation, well it was never really pretend and once their feelings get involved there is no turning back for either of them. Michaels has issues to deal with stemming from his past case and he is afraid to trust or let anyone in, I liked the way Shaw was able to break down the barriers he'd put up and help him move on.
It was good to catch up with the characters from the first book and I enjoyed the humour in their interactions.
Brighter Than Fear (#3) I did not want to put this book down, I loved diving back into this world and the found family the members of the SICB have become. I loved Rowan and Flynn's connection from where Rowan stalks Flynn from afar to where they meet and already have a connection between them. I really enjoyed the connection between Flynn and Rowan and loved seeing it expand albeit quite fast, it was clear there was something special between them.
The hunt to bring down Hornell, the tech used to bring back Prince which causes some tense times for Flynn and his coworkers and loved ones, the corruption they uncover and the danger and intrigue that is always close had me well and truly caught up in the story.
Stronger Than Fate (#4) As the 4th and final book in the Fangs & Felons series I knew it would have to go out with a bang and it didn't disappoint.
I loved diving back into this world and the found family the members of the SICB have become and Stronger than Fate brought all the players together to bring down the bad guys, finally.
I was really looking forward to getting to know Matt Lucas better and it was worth the wait. On the run and with a warrant out for their arrest Lucas ends up in hiding with Ethan, a bear shifter and someone he isn't sure about due to his past. While these two start off antagonising each other, the chemistry between them is too much and feelings grow pretty quickly. I enjoyed Matt and Ethan together and am very glad they got their HEA.
There was a lot going on, plenty of action, good guys, bad guys, and secrets coming out. This was a fast-paced read and a great ending to this series.
While these can be read as standalones, you're missing out on 4 great reads if you don't read them all (in order is best).
I love the world Becca Seymour created in the Fangs and Felons series and I am happy she has hinted at writing a spinoff series. I also love that it's set in Australia because it's great to have books like this set in my home country.
