My coworker came up with games, we all prepared a snack to share, and I put together a craft activity - floral sun hats! Materials: - Sun hats with bow or belt - I went with a wide brim and bow (plus, this one came with heart-shaped sunnies!)
- Faux flowers with wire stems - I really love these wire stemmed flowers. They hold their shape and are easy to work with.
This craft couldn't be any easier! Here's the how to: - Select 3 or more flowers and bunch them together (placement doesn't have to be perfect at this point; we'll adjust later).
- The flower set I used also comes with foliage. Attach the foliage to one of the flower stems to include in your bunch.
- Using one of the flower stems, wrap the wire stem around all of the stems to secure the bunch.
- Wrap the entire stem bunch around the hat's bow. This can be done different ways; I found wrapping in a figure 8 and tucking in the pokey stem ends behind the bow worked best.
- Adjust each flower to your liking.
This is a great project for outdoor crafting because you don't need any adhesives or electricity (e.g., for hot glue). Plus, guests get to wear their creation during the celebration and take home a useful party favor (they can also remove the flowers at any time). Pair with snacks (tea sandwiches, mini cupcakes, wedding cookies, and more!) and you've got yourself a lovely par-tea! This post includes affiliate links to my Amazon storefront.
