Embrace Fall: How to Make Beautiful Autumn Note Card

By Imagine on August 2, 2024

By Anna Escalada York

In today's post, I am sharing a card featuring autumn colors-orange, yellow, brown, and red.

Skill: Intermediate
Time: 2 hours

Directions:

Step 1
Color a piece of acetate packaging with both Canary VersaColor Pigment ink and Cardinal
VersaColor Pigment ink and then spray the acetate with water. Press the acetate onto a piece of
watercolor paper multiple times, moving the acetate around. Allow each layer to dry before
adding a second layer. This card has three layers–Cardinal then Canary and then a second
layer of Cardinal.

Step 2
Die cut the watercolor smooshed paper with a A2-sized panel die cut.

Step 3
Stamp the die cut panel multiple times with a retired typewriter woodblock stamp (or similar
textural stamp) with Golden Glitz Delicata Ink.

Step 4
Color a piece of acetate packaging with both Cantaloupe and Morocco Memento Marker mixed
with water as well as Pink Shimmer Delicata Ink mixed with water and press the acetate onto a
piece of watercolor paper. (I used a leftover scrap from a previous project.) Let the water dry
before repeating the process.

Step 5
Die cut the watercolor smooshed panel with a fern die. Color the whole die cut fern with
Morocco Memento marker and set it aside to dry. (I decided that the color of the fern was too
close to the background panel.)

Step 6
Die cut a piece of corrugated cardboard with a circular die.

Step 7
Gently rub Golden Glitz Delicata ink across the corrugated cardboard. Ideally, the raised ridges
are going to be the only parts of the cardboard that are colored. Then rub the Golden Glitz along
the edge of the circular die cut.

Step 8
Rub the Pink Shimmer Delicata ink pad across a scrap of watercolor paper to color it pink. Die
cut the now pink watercolor paper with the sentiment die.

Step 9
Die cut the sentiment's shadow layer with some sparkly cardstock.

Step 10
Glue the two layers of the die cut together.

Step 11
Glue the circular corrugated cardboard and the fern die cut onto the card panel. (I added a
second die cut of the fern die cut out of the sparkly white paper that was left over from a
previous project, offset a little so that it can be seen from behind the orange fern layer.

Step 12
Glue the sentiment onto the card panel.

Step 13
Glue rhinestones on the card panel near the fern and the sentiment.

Step 14
Glue the card panel onto an A2 sized white card base to finish the card.
