I posted one of these dog sculptures a couple of days ago. I walk past this gallery most days and there is usually someone looking through the window and smiling at these dogs. There are always different ones on display so they must sell quite a number of them.
These were out the other day.
I love the dogs' happy expressions, and that they are not perfect. We could learn a lot from them. People think dogs are beautiful. Even if they are missing teeth or have a tongue that permanently sticks out. The only time weight or crooked feet are a concern is if it is unhealthy for the dog. I wish we looked at each other and life like that. With joy and love.
My favourite dog photo of all time is this one. I am not sure who the original photographer is because the photographs is on many social media accounts. This photo expresses complete and utter joy in the moment.
If this were a person, the thoughts going through their mind would be:
- what will people think?
- the sand will get into my bathing suit
- I am too fat/old
- it's undignified
- people will look at me.
We can learn so much from dogs:
- be unashamedly yourself
- don't care how things look
- play as often as you can
- love unconditionally
- be loyal and brave
- live in the moment
- love life
- take utmost joy in the small things
- be honest
- be curious
- don't worry about how you or others look
- enjoy your food
- forgive
- appreciate the small things.
