(Well, everyone didn't have soup, there are so many other delicious things to order.) But, as we are on a SOUP Crawl, I tried their loaded-with-veggies vegetable soup. Oh my, it was really tasty. Sandie had the famous chicken and sausage gumbo which she said was also delicious. Well known for their chicken salad (I usually order it), many in the group had the famous chicken salad in a pita with Clara's potato salad and a slice of lemon pound cake for dessert. Yum, yum! Clara's has been a locally owned, family operated business for nearly 40 years, has 3 locations here in Jacksonville with plans to expand. Their soups, salads, sandwiches and desserts are all homemade and fresh. This is the kind of business we like to support. And Clara, herself, joined us from the kitchen where she was overseeing all the "fresh, local, lunches." A real treat. Thanks, Clara.
