This is my undyed Janet Leather Van Der Spek planner after 13 months of constant use. It is now a gorgeous even toasty colour, super-squishy to the touch, and is in my bag without a pouch.
This is the only planner I have ever regularly conditioned and waterproofed. My leather items are generally kept in good condition by being regularly used and handled. They tumble around in my bag just as they are, and the oils from my hands keep the leather supple and soft. When it comes to undyed leather, I usually just grit my teeth through the 'newborn' stage when marks and scuffs appear so easily.
This binder, however, had such gorgeous pebbles I wanted it to age elegantly. I bought a planner pouch to protect it in my bag, and I conditioned it regularly. The result was speedy patina and a very even colour development.
At this point it has darkened and toughened up enough to be able to be set loose in my bag, and it has continued to look gorgeous.
Please excuse the annoying tv in the background...
