Well, not exactly, but this British pub was the next best thing. Our servers were Bre and Dana, and they couldn't have been nicer to our big group who sat all over the place to draw. Located on US1 nearly to St. Augustine, it features traditional English cuisine, with all the classics you would expect such as fish and chips, bangers and mash, cottage pies and sausage rolls. Their Fish and Chips is lightly beer battered and big enough to share or take home. (Or - they let us get a child's/sr. portion, pictured. Thank you!) For dessert many of us had the sticky toffee pudding with caramel sauce, and it was delicious. It reminded me of a trip to England in 2014 when I was looking for an authentic recipe for sticky toffee pudding. I had it at nearly every place we ate until I could talk a chef out of his recipe. There, it was sometimes served with whipped cream. So yummy! Everything here tastes authentic and delicious. I'm going back soon. Interesting fact: Many British pubs are called Kings Head. (In fact, I'll be going to one in Santa Monica, CA, next week.) Why? "Before King Henry VIII and the Reformation, many had a religious theme, for example 'The Crossed Keys' , the emblem of St. Peter. When Henry split with the Catholic church, names were changed from religious themes to 'The King's Head' or 'The Rose & Crown' etc." (from website) | | | | You can also reply to this email to leave a comment. | | | | |
