Looking up I spotted a few Ball jars, so instead of tossing the peels in the compost, at least not yet, I put them in a Ball jar, filled it half full with white vinegar and started making a batch of household spray cleaner. Being mostly vinegar I expect it should be good on windows, too...unless the citrus oil comes into play later. We'll see. At lunch I tossed in the 1/2 lemon I used. Later I added some thyme from the garden. Rosemary is a good herb to use as well. Keep adding citrus peels until it's full and let stand a week or two.
