Flax & Twine wins my heart with all their weaving project ideas! I tried the April Basket Kit and eee, it's so cute!
The kit comes with twine for the basket (I bought an extra spool so I could make two baskets), rope, a needle, basket form (the container), and full, easy-to-follow instructions. Not on the materials list but what I found super helpful was to also have a pair of pliers for finishing.
First the base. I taped down the rope any way I could to get the base set up.
The some work on the form to get the desired basket shape. This was my first time working with a form; I never would have thought to use a food storage container (and it doubles as a basket making tool holder when not in use!).
For this design you can decide between two ways to finish your basket. I went with the more time consuming one (ha!) but it was worth the effort to get a more polished look!
Total time was around 6 hours with all my adjustments and getting confident to cut the excess. I love how it turned out!
And now we have a forever Easter basket! What would you put inside?
