Prada's saffiano leather goods are available at their outlet store. My sister got this back in 2014 I think, and used it daily, with noticeable wear and tear showing up around a couple of years after she started using it. Then finally, she retired it after about 5-6 years. It was decent looking and pretty practical to use, if you're a long wallet sort of person. It did go through the ringer in terms of getting tossed around and stuffed into bags, but overall I'd say the wear & tear isn't catastrophic.
Because of the humid weather here, some parts actually started to stick (as seen above). This issue isn't unique to Prada, though. We've had similar issues with Longchamp, LV, etc. It's this damned weather haha
The hardware is showing signs of tarnish (which is to be expected for brass), the fabric portion of the zipper is starting to fray a bit, and the edge paint on the zipper puller has started to peel off (not a major structural issue, more of aesthetic haha)
The leather is also showing darkening in the heavily scuffed areas, which is to be expected.
So again, I'd say the damage isn't too severe. The wallet's functionality didn't really get compromised, it's mostly just aesthetic elements. If you really wanted to keep using this wallet, you could take it to a repair place and they could still clean and recolor the body so it's all even again, and they could redo the edge finish on the zipper puller. Replacing the zipper is difficult, I think, because they'd have to take the whole wallet apart, but not impossible. It'll cost money to do these, but if you find yourself with a piece like this that has sentimental value, then it could be worth getting it repaired. If not, there's always the outlet haha
Same as with Prada's bags, I think you can find some solid pieces at the outlet that have good value and cost-per-use over time, but given the presence of such outlets, and the overall quality of their leather goods, I probably still wouldn't ever pay full price for them. It's always good practice to keep tabs on how different brands' leather goods age and survive wear & tear though!
