First of all, THANK YOU. All 2600+ of you who have signed up for my newsletter. You might be one of many wondering "Hey, how come I'm not getting his newsletter?" That is such a good question. And I have an answer! Because I haven't sent it yet. I have written the first newsletter, or at least what I think will be the first newsletter, but I have yet to send it because we are making changes to the site. This has spawned some confusion and I wanted to clear things up.
We are also going to make it easier for you to subscribe to the site so that alerts come whenever I blast something new. I can't fully express how honored I am that so many of you took the time to sign up. My goal is for you to say"I can't believe how good this newsletter is." Maybe some of you move to adopt me. I don't know, but I don't want to limit anyone's goals. I have a sinking suspicion it will take some time and experimentation to fully realize my newsletter goal. And yes, for those of you skeptics, I WILL monetize this at some point because I believe creatives creating their own ecosystem is the future of the creative industry. As I do with many of my print projects, I'm all about proving a point.
Yesterday, a Sunday, I thought would be my day to get shi$ done, but what transpired was a full day of hosting, socializing and having meals with astoundingly good creatives. Filmmakers, a digital tech and a photographer. There were times when I found myself saying "I should be at home working on my keynote presentations," but it was impossible to not spend time with these folks. I came out a better man, and I hope to pass along this knowledge and experience to you.
As we speak, I'm practicing hook kicks and bending a spoon with my thoughts. At some point, I will be turned loose on this site. It will be you and I, but until then I need to work out some kinks, make plans and juggle my various lives. Again, glad you are here with me. Can't wait to get to know you better. Onward.
Capt. Willard. ("I wanted a mission, and for my sins they gave me one." Best line ever.)
