| thefrugalcrafter Lindsay Weirich February 9 | Hi friends! In today's video, I will;l show you how to flatten a warped watercolor painting! You will need a clothes iron, clean white scrap paper like copy paper, and an ironing board or heat-proof surface. Directions: - Turn the iron to high, and make sure there is no steam.
- Sandwich your watercolor paper face down between 2 sheets of white paper.
- Press with the iron, moving it slowly. Make sure you do not have the steam turned on or it might reactivate your paint!
This should do the trick but if you are still seeing some warping you can flip the sandwich over and iron the front side of the paper. I recommend heading 2 pieces of paper over the paint side for extra protection if you do this. Important: This tip is for watercolor paintings only. Oil pastels, colored pencils, and acrylic paint may melt, transfer, or fuse to the pressing paper. If you are a mixed-media painter and you need to flatten your watercolor base layer please do that before you proceed with other media. Good luck! | | | | You can also reply to this email to leave a comment. | | | | |
