and the journey begins...
this book has found it's own direction
I found some illustrations in a 2013 issue of Selvedge magazine that are perfect to use for map stitching ideas
an extra strong button thread works well for outlining roads
in the book "Art Quilt Maps" the author suggests creating a map based on a haiku you write
I've been a fan and even tried writing a few haiku over the years and liked the inspiration this offers
the book "Haiku -Asian arts & crafts for creative kids" was bought when the grandchildren were young
it is a great introduction for anyone at any age
"The History of Haiku" was published in 1963 in Japan and all the poems are written in English and Japanese - author is R.H. Blyth
so - Page#2
"winter in the park
trees are bare, flowers sleep
waiting for Spring"
with the addition of the occasional haiku
the pages will wander through the local landscape
