| Tina Opines January 30 | A place to gather UNDER ITS SURFACE
The dog's water dish sits outside along the sidewalk under the dogwood tree, appropriately, in all weather. In winter, ice forms to be cracked and dumped onto the nearby ground, and then, refreshed once more.
In spring and summer it is filled again and again with water from the outside faucet or the hose spraying streams of heavy droplets.
In autumn leaves of all shapes are blown hither and yon through this neighborhood where trees both old and young, shed their foliage incessantly.
Often, one will find a neighbor's oak leaf submerged under the surface of this cool pool meant for wild lives. Wet and aged, the dying leaf is brilliant in its color of ochre floating just under the surface.
Thank you to Nolcha Fox, Moderator for the Poetry Circle, Garden of Neuro, for her daily and continued inspiration to keep at it! | | | |
