I grew up in Southern California where there was a See's Candies store in every mall. There were always multiple boxes of See's Candies that would get passed around during the holidays and I would dig through to find and eat all of the boudreaux chocolate.
It wasn't until I lived on the East Coast that I realized that not everyone had access to this wonderful candy and that the malls there did not contain any See's Candies stores (at least I did not see any). When I moved to Seattle I was delighted to discover there was a store at Westlake Park. I used to stop by about once a month or so to get my free sample and a couple of pieces of chocolate to eat throughout the week. Sadly, this store closed during the pandemic.
I don't know how I missed this but See's Candies has an advent calendar and I splurged and bought it this year. Knowing that I have a piece of See's chocolate to eat every day is heavenly.
The calendar is super cute with all the animal drawings. Each day you pull out a full-sized individually wrapped piece of chocolate, lollipop, or other treat. I can't believe I get to each a piece of See's candy every day this month. Maybe that is too much chocolate?
