In this video, I will show you how to mount and wax a watercolor painting so it can be displayed without glass. I will also show you how to make an inexpensive floater frame. Let's save some money and display our art!
By the way, you can find a real-time tutorial for this snowy door painting in Critique Club and I have a free timelapse video on YouTube.
Wood surface to mount to (I used a scrap of plywood and I put Jenga blocks on the back to make the spacers for the floater.) A more professional option would be a cradled wood board. Cradled panels on Blick, and Cradled panels on Amazon *compare prices and sizes, blick has a great selection of singles, and Amazon has better prices in bulk. Get exactly the size you need, or a touch smaller if you don't mind cropping your painting because you can't cut these panels down.
