PRIZE WINNERS — This group of winners in the contest which has been held by the Boston Shoe Store, 1044 Washington Street, South Norwood, gathered at the store recently to receive their prizes from Proprietor Herman Koplah.

Donald Grant of 120 Pleasant Street, East Walpole, became the owner of a beautiful new Silver King bicycle last week when he was adjudged the winner in the contest held by the Boston Shoe Store, which opened July 12 and continued through September 15 at the store, 1044 Washington Street, South Norwood.

The bicycle was presented to young Mr. Grant by Herman Koplan, proprietor of the store, who stated that during the three months of the contest, approximately 5,000 pairs of old shoes were turned in' to him by young people taking part in the contest. These will be given over to some worthy charitable cause.

The contest allowed a certain number of votes on each purchase made in the contestants' name, as well as votes given for old shoes turned in at the store. Several other valuable prizes were awarded to the runner-up.

Other winners were Jack Howard of 147 Dean Street, who won roller skates; Constance Kinder of 28 Sunset Avenue, a watch; Richard Dorr of Old Post Road, Walpole, a croquet set; Edna Johnson of 10 Johnson place, a watch; Phyllis Larusso of 72 Heaton avenue, a cosmetic case; Frances Kavolius of 14 Morse avenue, a baseball bat; Billy Thompson of 9 Garner road, a baseball; Angelo Franziosa of 227 Winter street, a camera with carrying case; Manuel Dias of 1022 Washington street, a.basketball and goal; and Warren Marshall of 20 Neponset street, a portable phonograph.
