At 4.00 p.m. on Sunday, September 25, Rev. Felix Norbut, assisted by visiting members of the clergy, blessed and dedicated St. George's Convent on St. James avenue.

The ceremonies marking the dedication began earlier In the day with the 9.00 a.m. Mass said for the intention of the Convent. A sermon in Lithuanian was preached by Rev. Svagzdys, a former Pastor of St. George's. A very gratifying number of people later took advantage of the open house held by the Sisters and Inspected the appropriately furnished Convent.

Following the dedication ceremonies, a capacity crowd attended a banquet in the Parish Hall. Fr. Svagzdys again spoke, this time on the theme of progress through unity. Fr. Norbut, In his speech, made a comparison of the spirit which motivated the building of the church and Convent. Over forty years ago the then small group of Lithuanians in Norwood, who were not in a strong economic position, united and built the present church edifice. Many years of hard sacrifice passed before the debt incurred could be paid off. Today, as then, that same spirit of unity and sacrifice once more showed itself and made possible the building of the Convent—almost entirely paid for.

Sincere thanks were extended to all those who in any way contributed to the building of the Convent. Especially singled out for their extreme generosity were the Conributors toward memorials.

Rev Joseph Svlrskas acted as master of ceremonies. Visiting members of the clergy included Revs. Svagzdys, Shakalis, Janunas, Kneizys, and Vembre. Entertainment was provided by the tenor solos of Mr. Alphonse A. Kontrimas and solos by young Peter Antonitis.

The success of the banquet Is directly due to the hard work of the members of the General Committee for the Banquet — Hiliaras Balutls, William Grinavic, Vincent Kudirka, Michael Minkevicius, Adams Tumas, George Verslackas, Mrs. Charles Novick, Mrs. Bronius Chervokas, Mrs, Bronius Kudirka, and Miss Ann Pazniokas.

White we are speaking of hard work we must mention that of the Committee for the Program Book —Anthony Mickunas, William Grinavic, Edward Perednla, and Sirs. Joseph Stonis.

For their culinary prowess and decorative talent we must thank the Young Ladies' Sodality and the Married Ladies' Sodality.
