it isn't a choice!
on a new warp, after weaving an inch or two I always check for mistakes
I missed this one
can you see it?
six warp threads to the left of the contrasting warp thread and approx. six inches of weaving
I missed one dent in the reed while threading
it leaves an empty space for the length of the weaving
I can't live with it so-o - what are the choices
1. leave a space and start the weaving again - but I need the length and the tie-on warps are needed for the fringe - no
2. if it was commercial cotton I would carefully cut out the weft (weaving) yarns - but it is handspun silk - no
3. unweave all the woven yarn and start again - but I would also need to carefully cut out the hem stitching at the start - no, no
4. unweave (slowly and carefully) back to the first 1/2 inch and start again - this weft is a fine commercial yarn I've had for 10 years (so can't get more) and there is not much left
BUT - 1/2 inch is not too much to waste, I can start again and repeat the hem stitching - when the weaving is finished and it is off the loom I can cut out the half inch of weft threads to twist a fringe
I'll think about it overnight
meanwhile, the bears needed to inspect the Teddy Bear sunflowers - a gift from the Hittys
Rosie didn't want to get her dress dirty - she missed out!
the flowers are soft and fluffy, just like Arthur
I hope we get some seeds
