NORWOOD BEGINS TODAY.
Celebration Will Open with Exorcises in a Tent Tonight.

July 28, 1903—Today and tomorrow Norwood will celebrate old-home week, the celebration opening with a program this evening in a big tent and closing with general exercises in the same tent tomorrow evening.

Guests are requested to register at Village Hall at 4 this afternoon. Light refreshments will be served there from 6 to 7 this evening, and on Thursday evening at the same hours.

The program as officially arranged for Wednesday and Thursday is as follows: Opening exercises in tent on Everett school grounds. 7:30 to 10 pm: Prayer by Rev James B. Troy; address of welcome by Pres Frank A. Fairs; song. "On Venice Waters." by Weber quartet; historical address by Don Gleason Hill of Dedham: song. My Home is Where the Heather Blooms.' by Weber quartet; poem by Charles S Ross of Norwood; song. "Honey, I Wants Yer Now," by Weber quartet; stereopticon views of Norwood scenes and old residents, with explanatory remarks by Milton H. Howard: designs for a new town seal, with explanatory remarks by James A. Halloran; song. "Ended Once More." by Weber quartet.

From 9 to 12 a m. Thursday, guests will be entertained by drives about town. Including visits to the industrial plants and public places.

Historical exercises at 3 o'clock Thursday afternoon, opening with prayer by Rev George W. Mead. Introductory remarks will be made by Harold E. Fales and the unveiling of a memorial to the soldiers of South Dedham who participated in the siege of Louisburg, 1745, will follow. The historical address will be delivered by Frederic J. Stimson of Dedham.

At 4:30 a concert on the Everett school grounds will be given by the Norwood band.

Thursday evening at 7:30 In tbs big tent there will be a gathering especially designed for the enjoyment of old timers and visitors. Prayer will be offered by Rev J F Knotts, remarks will be made by visiting guests and old-time residents, musical exercises will be given by members of the "Sixteen Of us" club, the stereoptlcon view exhibited on the previous evening will be shown for the second time. These exercises will be followed by a social hour for the renewal of old acquaintances and friendships.

Dr Frederick S Button of the reception committee has invited the following old residents to assist on his committee: John E. Smith, Issac Ellis, Jabez Sumner., Isaiah Merrifeld, H L. Boyden, Jarvis Fairbanks, Tyler Thayer, Austin Pratt, John Nugent, J W Roby, Thomas F Mahoney, Willard Dean, . Richard Everett, Henry Ellis, Martin Lydon Jr.. Edward Talbot, Chas. Rogers, Walter Fales and W. Curtis Fisher.
