Happy July 31st! I'm not going to lie, even though it seems like the year is going by super fast I'm kind of excited for fall to begin. I'm getting a little tired of summer and I want to just be wearing all my fall clothes and see the leaves change color and have it be spooky season. Just a month or two more!

In the meantime, here are some of the things I got up to in July:

What I'm celebrating:
Here in the U.S., we celebrated the Fourth of July at the beginning of the month with a huge fireworks show. I don't normally go out and watch fireworks because it's so crowded and loud. I've never loved a crowded situation but ever since Covid crowds just seem extra cramped. Instead, I stayed home and watched the fireworks where I was comfortable on my couch in my pajamas.

What I'm eating:
I picked up this cookie cookbook at Half Priced Books and I can't wait to bake all the cookies in it. I saw the book on a table when I walked by and I had to do a double-take because the cookies on the cover looked so delicious. I flipped through the book and was sold when I saw a recipe for cookies with Reese's peanut butter cups in them. Can you imagine anything more yummy?

What I'm watching:
I finally got caught up and finished watching the first season of Silo on Apple TV+. I really liked this show and the characters and I'm glad it's been renewed for a second season. Although, I do feel that all the interesting characters are now either dead or have left the silo so I'm not sure what exactly will happen in season 2. I did sneak a peak at the Wikipedia synopsis for the book series that the show is based on, so I know what happens next in the books but it will be interesting to see where the show goes.

Where I'm traveling:
Earlier this month, my friend Alli and I went to Denver, Colorado for a long weekend. We had so much fun walking around, going to the Meow Wolf museum, browsing bookstores, and, of course, going to Walmart at 9pm to grab salads for dinner. We spent a lot of time in the suburbs - we went to Castle Rock and Aurora - but our favorite place may have been Boulder. We got to Boulder on a beautiful Sunday that happened to coincide with Pearl Street Art Fests. This outdoor art gallery and festival that spun several city blocks was so cute! I can't wait to go back to Denver.

See you next month!
