Peter A. Wilson, owner of the A & B Auto School, announces the beginning of a program of classroom instruction, and behind-the-wheel training to assist in the completion of the full course in driver education required for an insurance reduction for those under 25, to be held at the new premises, 48 Day street in Norwood. Those young people who do not have the opportunity to participate in this program in their schools will be particularly interested.
Thomas Roche of the Norwood Senior High School Faculty will be the classroom supervisor. Mr. Roche is a graduate of St. John's Prep School in Danvers and received his B.S. and M.A. degrees front the Catholic University of Anterica. He first became concerned with Driver Education in 1950 when he worked with Mr. Fanning of the Registry of Motor in developing the program for private schools.
The new supervisor began his teaching career, in 1942 at the Cardinal Hayes High School in the Bronx, N.Y C He was Director of Athletics for three years at Mt. St. Josephs High School in Balti more, Md. For the past eight years he has taught in the Norwood School system. Mr. Roche has undergone an intensive course in Driver Education at M I T. that he might better serve the interests of all students who will participate in this program.
In the past two years Mr. Wilson and his instructor have taught more than 225 Norwood High School Students after they completed their classroom study. Both Mr, Wilson and his assistant Mrs. Hazel Carrozza have completed advanced courses in Driver Education.
