We had field day this week at school. It is a favorite day for the kids, who absolutely adore the games, fun, snacks, and competitions. They love seeing their teachers compete in a few of them, especially the big closing game, tug of war between 5th graders and staff. (5th graders won).
But it's also very tiring, setting up the games for the whole day (13 rotations!), participating, and closing down. It's actually 2 days, k-2 then 3-5th grade the next day. There were also field trips this week, Special Olympics, and other things that we all enjoyed, but man, I'm worn out tonight!
I got home right after school and sat myself down and just vegged out. Now I'm having a crock pot roasted chicken with roasted potatoes and carrots, and I poured the drippings over them. With that, a pot of lime-ginger Malaysian tea.
I think tomorrow I need to get out a bit. A new coffee shop is opening in town, I'll go (support your local business!) and with my fancy coffee, trundle up to my favorite vintage store. I saw posted for sale a few doo-dads for outside, like windchimes and some of those poles you poke in the ground to hang a plant from. I enjoy their 'office' section, their notepads and paper and such. Nothing major, but browsing is nice because the store is always so artfully staged, it has beautiful things, and the ladies are pleasant and low-key. No pressure to buy.
I usually write all day Saturday so that my blogs are ready for the week, but tomorrow I need a break, and I'll go out and about. I'll write later. There is a covered bridge north of the vintage store, I might check that out. Sipping coffee all the way!
dinner in the pan, soon to be in the tummy
tea is so warming, comforting. I love it
