This is an expansion of my original Moynat review, this time focusing more on the iconic Rejane bag.
Prior to me going to bag making school back in 2014, this was one of the bags and brands I really loved from afar (no stockists in my city), and that I've tried to make sure to visit in many succeeding Paris trips. I love the details and the custom hardware, and I think a lot of the styles I love from the brand are from the Ramesh Nair era.
Clean, smooth edge finish
Clean, consistent stitches
Good size options
Custom hardware
Hand-stitched
I particularly like this hardware they use for the top handle, wherein there's a built-in little extra loop for the detachable shoulder strap
So cleanly finished
Those parts where the threads loop around over the edges are reinforcement stitches and are also done by hand
If you look closely, you can see the diagonal holes/slits where the stitches go through. This shape is created by using diamond awls, another sign of hand-stitching
We're still waiting for the right color to come along, but this is definitely on our list
It just so happened that we weren't in love with the colors available when we visited haha
Don't force it, one day the right color will meet you and you will just know haha
The PM is now 4400€, up around 1000€ in 8 years or so
