Public Acclaims New Lewis Structure
Opened yesterday for public dining service was the new Lewis Restaurant at the corner of Cottage and Central streets, Norwood. The $50,000 restaurant and grill welcomed public inspection on Tuesday afternoon from 4.30 to 9, on Wednesday night entertained special guests at a banquet, and yesterday threw its doors wide open to begin business.
Its modernity, attractiveness, and luxurious furnishings found ready approval from the most impeccable taste Particularly praised were the wall murals in the classical Greek manner. The pine-paneled, Colonial-style Tyot Room designed for special parties and located in the basement was another first choice of pre-viewers.
Lacking nothing in the detail which makes for dining comfort, and outstanding in Its design and decoration, the new structure brought congratulations in good measure to the owner, Arthur G. Lewis, and architect, Harry Korslund.
Latest Greater Boston Community Fund campaign tabulation shows that Norwood subscribed a total of $525 to achieve 70 percent of its quota Canton subscribed a total of $3,422.80 to achieve 114. percent of its quota.
