I read 75 books in 2022. My goal was to read 52 books so I completely crushed this goal. I really stepped up my reading in the second half of the year. I debated moving my goal to 80 books when I saw I was reading more but ultimately decided not to, although I kept that number in my head. I didn't quite read those 80 books, but I did read some great books in 2022.
Here's my 2022 reading in review:
Number of books read: 75
This averages out to just a little bit over 1.4 books read per week.
Number of pages read: 25,526
Averages out to approximately 490 pages read a week.
Longest book:
Hideaway at 480 pages.
Shortest book:
Elusive Promise at 211 pages.
Average Book Length:
340 pages
According to Goodreads, my average rating was 3.2 stars. I tend to rate most books around 3 or so (or as Goodreads likes to say "It was good"). I only rated 1 book in 2022 as 5 stars.
Books by genre:
Fiction – 72
Nonfiction – 3
Books read for book club – 3
My book club started meeting more last year and one of the books I read was my pick (you have to read the book you pick for book club, right?). We definitely met more than three times but I didn't always read the book. Our next meeting is at the end of January so I am hoping to start the year out strong for book club reading.
Books by acquisition type:
48 books were borrowed from the library
27 books were owned by me
Books by format:
Paperback – 21
Hardback – 22
Ebooks – 32
I try not to buy hardback books, just because they are so expensive. All of the hardback books I read this year, except for 3, were borrowed from the library. I also prioritized reading ebooks at night before I fall asleep, but this is more because I can't see at night and need the light from my Kindle.
Happy reading!!
