Pvt. Horace G. Webber, 34-year-old Norwood Infantry soldier, is missing in action in Germany, it was learned last night following the receipt of a War Department telegram by his wife, Mrs. Margaret Webber of 32 Melville avenue.

Pvt. Webber is one of five brothers in the service, two of whom have been wounded in battle. They are the sons of Mr. and Mrs. Edgar Webber of 286 Railroad avenue.

The War Department notification announcing her husband as missing was received by Mrs. Webber on Tuesday. Yesterday, Pvt. Webber's mother received a letter from him. in which he stated that Christmas packages which she had sent him had been received.

OVERSEAS SIX MONTHS

Entering the service a year ago. Pvt. Webber received his training at Camp Eustis. Va., and was stationed at Fort Meade, Md.. before leaving for overseas service six months ago. He has been fighting in France and Germany with the 117th Infantry attached to the 30th Division.

Pvt. Webber attended the local schools and prior to entering the service was employed at Bird and Son. He is married to the former Margaret Maguire of Hyde Park.

A brother, Pfc. Russell H. Webber. a fleet Marine, was wounded in the Palau invasion and recently arrived at a hospital in San Diego, Cal. Another brother, T/Sgt. Edgar F. Webber, a veteran of 50 missions as an aerial engineer and gunner on a Liberator bomber in the Mediterranean theatre was wounded in action over Italy some time ago. He is now back in the States and is stationed in Tennessee.

Other brothers are Sgt. Preston J. Webber, who is serving with the amphibious engineers in New Guinea; Pvt. Kenneth Webber, who is stationed at the Naval Ammunition Depot at Crane Island, Ind., and Elliott Webber of Norwood.

There are two sisters. Mrs. George Dulcy of 33 Washington street, East Walpole, and Mrs. Charles Smith of Abington.

Pvt. Webber is the second Norwood man reported this week as missing in action. Pvt. John J. Ready of 35 Mountain avenue, who is married and the father of a year and a half old boy, was listed in the Messenger on Monday as missing in action in France.

Other battle casualties reported here during the last few days include six Norwood soldiers wounded.
