1. If you were to categorize or describe the style of your music, what would it be and why?
I'd say folk-pop, with all the guitars and slang and bits of harmonica. Barn pop if you will.
2. Where do you draw your inspiration from?
Lately the sixties and seventies. Big family-style harmonies.
3. What made you want to start a music project and how did you come up with the name?
We've been in a few musical projects over the years. Some short-lived, others lasting longer. This started long ago as an outlet for songs that never made it off the tape for one reason or another. And our names rhymed, so there's that.
4. Can you talk a little bit about what your creative thought process is like when starting a new album?
I'm not sure there was ever a "let's make this album" moment, but it's fun to think about in hindsight since there was definitely a 'recipe' that we found ourselves following while making these songs.
5. What would you want people/ the listener to take from your music?
That you should find what you love to do and what your passionate about and do it.
6. Can you talk a little bit about your lifestyle as an artist and what that is like?
Sunday is jam day. We get the most time that day to consistently work on whatever we're working on at the time, which is nice after the work week.
7. When starting out an artistic task, do you think it is better to have a particular direction/set plan guiding your way? Or, is it better to act on impulse and go from there?
I think each approach yields a different result. One way isn't better or worse than the other.
8. What is one major lesson you've learned as an artist?
That you can always get better and better at your craft. That there is always something to learn and improve upon.
9. Do you regard personal style & taste to be of highest importance?
No, not really.
10. What do you consider to be the hardest thing about being an artist?
Deciding on album titles.
11. What is one thing you love about being an artist?
Playing live is always the best.
12. Is there anyone in particular, any artists that inspire you in any way?
We've been listening to Yes. And Faye Webster.
13. What do you think of technology in terms of being a useful tool for artists today?
It's extremely useful for artists today. It's even more useful for people looking to start out!
14. Do you think being an artist allows you to view the world differently from those who don't follow creative paths?
I think everyone follows their own creative path whether they'd like to believe it or not.
15. Do you enjoy traveling? If so, do you have a favorite city?
Everyone should go to New Orleans at least once.
16. Do you have a favorite author or book?
Amelia Bedelia.
17. Any future goals or plans for your music?
Definitely lots of gigs in the very near future.
18. What does being an artist mean to you?
It means giving it your all and staying true to yourself and not stopping until you've written whole damn song.
19. Any last words on the aesthetic of your music?
