Top Ten Tuesday was created by The Broke and the Bookish in June of 2010 and was moved to That Artsy Reader Girl in January of 2018. It was born of a love of lists, a love of books, and a desire to bring bookish friends together.

Today's topic is a Halloween freebie!

Now, something to know about me is that I do not like scary movies. True story - when I was in college my friend and I watched The Exorcist and I was so scared that I made her sleep in my dorm room (my roommate was out of town) so I wouldn't have to be alone. Mind you, we watched the network television version of The Exorcist so I am assuming that a lot of gory and disturbing scenes were cut out and I was still freaked out. Needless to say, I am kind of a wimp when it comes to scary movies. If I do watch them, it for sure won't be at night. Another true story - I watched season 1 of American Horror Story when it first came out years ago and I could only watch that show in the daylight. I haven't watched any other seasons since.

With that in mind, I do have some favorite spooky movies, and seeing as how Halloween is right around the corner, here are some of My Favorite Spooky Movies:

1. Hocus Pocus - The ultimate Halloween movie!

2. Trick 'r Treat - This movie is a bit of a cult classic. I saw it with a friend when we were looking for something Halloween-esque to watch and it did not disappoint.

3. Practical Magic - I love this movie about witches and sisters.

4. Poltergeist - Not gonna lie, the clown scene still terrifies me.

5. The Ring - Another creepy movie with super creepy characters.

6. The Lost Boys - Keifer Sutherland makes the best vampire!

7. Carrie - I think the 1976 version is one of the best Stephen King adaptations.

8. The Blair Witch Project - The last 10 minutes of this movie really freaked me out.

9. Scream - Such a good slasher movie with an ending I did not see coming.

10. Beetlejuice - Okay, so not necessarily a scary movie, but a fabulous movie nonetheless.
