Review:

I want to thank Rachel at Rachel's Random Resources and the publisher for my copy of A Stolen Knight's Kiss. All opinions are my own.

This is the second in the Protectors of the Crown series, but it easily works as a standalone, however if you want to get a bit more background on the Knight of Fortitude I'd recommend reading the first, A Defiant Maiden's Knight, too.

Eva is being paid handsomely to steal a pouch from Sir Nicholas D'Amberly. She knows not to ask too many questions, as she wants to get paid and start a new life away from the streets. The problem is Nicholas finds her and forces her to try to track down the people who put her up to the robbery. What she doesn't count on is sparks flying between her and Nicholas. They must put the mission first and maybe, just maybe, they'll find happiness after.

Eva is a headstrong character who I really felt for. On her own, after the death of her family, she finds herself on the streets of London, taken under the wing of a master thief. She does anything she can to survive. All she wants is a stable job without having to look over her shoulder all the time, worried she'll find herself back on the streets again.

I met Nicholas in the previous book and I enjoyed getting to know him more, seeing his softer, more vulnerable side.

What I love about this series is the sense of danger and peril weaved in between the romance, making it hard to put the book down.

A Stolen Knight's Kiss is a wonderfully written historical romance with bags of suspense and great characters to root for.
