Title: Blind House by Jamie-Lee Brooke

Publication Date: 31st October 2022

Publisher: Spellbound Books

Genre: Horror

Description:

Fame is about to get deadly in this terrifying, fresh take on a haunted house thriller.

Set in an idyllic Cotswolds village, rookie paranormal investigator, Megan Forrest, is roped into investigating the strange goings-on at the home of Hollywood actor, Ross Huston.

Ross and his wife Deborah are convinced that their Victorian mansion is being haunted by the mentally ill patients who resided there in the late nineteenth century.
Patients who were brutally treated and murdered at the hands of a cruel doctor.

As Megan investigates ghosts from the past, two women from the present go missing- women who were last seen at the Huston's property. Who was the doctor and how is everything connected?

When Megan finds herself swept up in a dangerous game, she can't escape.
Who was the Doctor?
One thing she knows for sure, is that there is something watching her…

Review:

I want to thank Zoe at Zooloos Book Tours and Spellbound books for my copy of Blind House. All opinions are my own.

To escape her abusive boyfriend, Megan Forrest takes on a job trying to rid famous actor Ross Huston's house of ghosts. She doesn't believe in ghosts, but the moment she sets foot in the house, her beliefs are shaken. Out of her depth, she must find out what the spirits want and find out what is really going on under the roof of Blind House.

I love a good haunted house novel, so I knew I had to read Blind House.

What I love about Blind House was the fact there were plenty of tense, creepy scenes, coupled with an intriguing mystery to keep me glued to the book. Be warned though, there are a few brutal scenes that may not be for the faint of heart!

I felt for Megan. She really had been dealt a bad hand in life. First her awful family, who basically abandoned her, to her abusive boyfriend, to the loss of her best friend. What I love about her is even though she went through that she had this inner strength and resilience, even if it was shaken at times, that I had to admire.

The ending felt a little dragged out to me, especially after all the spooky goings on in the first half of the book.

If you're looking for a fast-paced, mysterious and ghostly read, then I'd highly recommend Blind House to you.
