Hi friends! The next time you get together with your crafty friends I have the craft for you! Heck, this is so easy that no crafting experience is required (you can do this craft with your non-crafty friends!) You can make it as elaborate or as simple as you like. Best yet, everything you really need (minus rubber gloves and something to protect your table) is in this kit.
I have used epoxy and polyester resin in the past and those resins are better for some things like large, thick molds but living in a cool climate and working in a basement I found there were only a couple months out of the year that the temperature was warm enough and the humidity was low enough to get good results. I basically had September to make my resin magic LOL! So when Bessie at Let's Resin told me about UV resin that cures with a UV light when you are ready to cure it I was intrigued. Also, since you don't have to mix 2 parts together it eliminates error and waste. I was hooked from the first charm! Watch the video and see how easy it is and learn from some of my mistakes!
I liked how the resin cured perfectly under the light, and since you didn't need to mix and measure 2 parts together there was no waste. The resin was liquid until you put it under the light so no racing against the clock to get everything together before it started curing.
I hope this inspired you to give resin a try. UV resin is ideal for charms and jewelry but not for thick projects so make sure that's the kind of project you want to make with it. I even resined the mixing area or a wooden palette I bought because it has a sloppy paint job and I thought it might stain. This stuff is so fun!
Have you tried resin? Let me know what your experience was in the comments below and til next time happy crafting!
