When I told my husband I was reading a rom-com based around Bingo, he said, oh so it's all old people. Nope. Not that there would be anything wrong with that! But nope, this is about the sole young woman who is a regular at the weekly bingo nights in Greenbelt, SC: Aja. Aja always sits next to Ms. May and one week, as she has broken BOTH of her arms, her grandson, Walker, accompanies her. He's come down from Charleston to help as long as she's incapacitated. And wow, he is hot. And he thinks she is too. They also both have a weakness for the peach cobbler at the local diner, and they both have panic attacks due to anxiety (her) and PTSD (him). They're a match made in heaven!
Because of the panic attacks, this book isn't purely light and fluffy. Walker in particular has a not-great back story which explains why he hates Greenbelt and can't possibly live there again, but Aja has just moved there from DC due to her anxiety which really means she needs to live in a smaller town. So they both figure they can't stay together, so they'll just have a summer fling and that'll be it. But sparks fly, and it's hot. Will they be able to part at the end of the summer? And will they ever win at bingo?
This book is published by St. Martin's Griffin, a division of Macmillan, my employer.
