We have been doing the sightseeing in Stockholm thing lately, being tourists in our own city. Isn't it strange how seldom we do that? I have lived in Stockholm for 24 years and there are still museums I have not been to, and touristy things I have not done. When you get into the living and working grind in a place, you forget the childlike curiosity you had in it when you first visited.
Yesterday we went on a boat sightseeing tour just because it went past our apartment. We usually see it from the other side, as tourists point at our apartment buildings.
Yesterday we saw it from the other side,
went through the lock which is right beside our flat, which separates the Baltic Sea side (where we live) from the 50cm higher Lake Mälaren side,
and could see the houseboats at dock in the canal from the other side. We live on the first floor of the building second from left, facing the sea.
