Hi guys ! May was a pretty busy month for me, even though we had several bank holidays in France I didn't even read that much, but I focused on doing stuff with my family and boyfriend, and I also went to Les Imaginales (see debrief here), which all took up a lot of my time.
Here's what I read in May !
The Witch's Tree | Elena Collins |
A pretty cool book, with two women, one who died centuries ago, burned as a witch, and the other in the present, rebuilding her life. I mostly enjoyed the past POV, but it was a great read overall
We were liars | E. Lockhart |
My cousin kept asking me if I had read it, so I ended up picking it up to talk about it with her. It was ok, I got in the book easily, but I didn't really like Cadence and her family. It's all a little angsty and teen-y for me. So it's more 3.5 . Glad I read it to see about all the hype though!
She who became the sun | Shelley Parker-Chan |
Got to read this one as I met the author at Les Imaginales, and I'd been meaning to read this forever. This was the perfect occasion! I ended up really liking the main character evolution in her quest for greatness, but there were several other POVs that I just didn't care much for, so I skimmed a lot of pages. Enough to understand that those characters wouldn't catch my attention if they were not interacting with the main one. Still a really good book, and very original!
I actually read more than this, but it's all books in French, or mangas, which I don't review on their own much. I'll wait till I finished series to review the whole work. Since I started going to the library a lot, and it's all in French, I guess it will be short wrap-ups more and more!
That's it for today,
Thanks for reading me
See you soon,
Love,
Jade
