Five Sketchers went to this Puerto Rican Bakery while I was in France. They said it was so good, we tried to go for lunch Monday without reading that they were closed Mondays... We will be back.
However, this is Sandie's review: "There was a large and varied offering of donuts, both regular and filled. My Bavarian crème filled chocolate iced doughnut was light and fabulous! Then there were a myriad of gorgeous pastries and cakes. The quesitos con guava (cheese pastries with guava jelly) were the best I have ever tasted. Dale took a bite of hers and couldn't stop eating. She had to buy another to paint! I took some to Linda, who loves them, and she raved, too. They had cakes and cheesecakes, as well as flan and bread pudding, and many pastries that had cheese, guava and Bavarian crème. They also make and sell bread, which smelled divine! Breakfast and Lunch offerings were mostly traditional fare with some Puerto Rican specialties, too. Super friendly Janiellys, though busy with a steady flow of customers, kept us happy!
We also learned some Puerto Rican history…Borinquen is the original name of Puerto Rico, given by its indigenous people, and is what native Puerto Ricans use in reference to their country."
Don't they look delicious? I'll be going here soon.
